Pakistan’s first ever anime, ‘The Glassworker,’ finally hits cinemas this week
Pakistan’s first and long awaited anime film ‘The Glassworker’ hits theatres this Friday following years of distribution difficulties. It has been described as one of the best animated movies in years.
The Plot
The story follows Vincent, a young boy who helps out at his father’s glassware store. However, one day, a talented violinist named Alliz enters; they fall in love during a tumultuous time of conflict as we follow their relationship throughout the years of war.
Director Usman Riaz — of Mano Animation Studios — has been working hard to make sure the world knows about it.
Featuring the voice of Art Malik and more, its enchanting visuals step right out of a Studio Ghibli motif into line drawn pages of its own.
Release Date & Cinema Tickets
The film is slated for a Friday 19th September 2025 release. Both the Odeon and Vue cinemas have taken on the animated adventure. The Luxe Haymarket and Islington will respectively screen showings of the movie. Tickets can be purchased by visiting Flicks. The film is distributed by GEO Media.
