The Mummy (2026) Plot

The story unfolds after the mysterious eight-year disappearance of a journalist’s daughter. This triggers a series of terrifying consequences far from any expected happy ending.

In the trailer, we’re given a tonal treatment rather than a full reveal. Very little is disclosed beyond the expected horror tropes: a sarcophagus, tightly bound corpses and the interplay between contrasting light and shadows. Brooding a sense of mystery, the result is a slew of visual hints of a curse devastating all within its vicinity.

The Cast

The film’s cast is an ensemble of varied talent, including Jack Reynor, known for his role in “Midsommar“, who plays the husband and father. Laia Costa (The Wheel of Time) will star as his wife. The following actors and actresses will appear in The Mummy in unspecified roles:

  • May Calamawy (Moon Knight, Ramy)
  • Natalie Grace (1923)
  • Verónica Falcón (Queen of the South)
  • May Elghety (Egyptian actress known for Qamar 14)
  • Shylo Molina (The Afterparty)
  • Billie Roy (Candy)
  • Hayat Kamille (Murder on the Orient Express, Death on the Nile)

Production Details

The film is a production collaboration between of New Line Cinema, Blumhouse Productions, Atomic Monster, and Wicked/Good. The musical score was crafted by Stephen McKeon with cinematography by Dave Garbett. Both worked with Cronin on “Evil Dead Rise”.

Release Date

A theatrical release is expected in cinemas from the 17th April 2026 and will be distrubuted by Warner Bros. Pictures.
