Opinion: US President Donald Trump is edging us closer to World War III

We can no longer deny Donald Trump is either suffering from dementia or is cold, concentrated evil. My money is on the latter.
Last year in the White House, before the world’s press, the US president screamed at Ukraine’s Volodymyr Zelensky, exclaiming: “You’re gambling with World War III”. All this from a man who is seemingly doing that single-handedly. From changing the name of the DOD to “The Department of War”, to kidnapping Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro, it seems the fake tan-wearing McDonald’s-loving White House occupant is set for a few of his own over the next two years.
Greenland Obsession
His obsession with Greenland isn’t new and reeks of Russian interference. Who better to order an aggressive takeover of the Nuuk administration than the real-life Sauron himself — Vladimir Putin.
Following mass and reciprocal sanctions, the fallout from annexing the Arctic island will likely lead to economic collapse, war, and societal breakdown.
In the United Kingdom and the United States, divisive rhetoric has already torn communities apart. A financial meltdown catalysed by global conflict will only exacerbate existing tensions, and potentially escalate racial attacks. War will sow political discord, allowing Russia’s paws to tread slowly over Europe through rampant corruption and sabotage.
Washington-Nuuk Negotiations Fail
Short-lived talks between the USA, Denmark, and Greenlandic representatives in Washington, yielded no progress. Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen said:
“Now the situation is entirely different and of course, we have to respond to this. The big difference is whether that must lead to a situation where, where the US acquires Greenland, and that is absolutely not necessary,”
Instead, the meeting, lasting less than an hour, made clear a serious intensification may follow. The Danish minister concluded:
“We didn’t manage to change the American position. It’s clear that the president has this wish of conquering Greenland. And we made it very, very clear that this is not in the interest of the kingdom.”
Military Action in Iran
As protestors continue to oppose its government, the country is in free fall thanks to recent domestic and international incidents, as well as crippling US and European Union sanctions. Israeli strikes against Tehran heightened affliction for Iranians owing to a brief exchange between the two. Donald Trump has made no secret of his desire to attack again, a suggestion that will only add fuel to the flames.
Sweeping western tariffs and export restrictions played a huge part in its economic downfall, and with that, civilian prosperity.
What do the people of Iran want? Choice. But that doesn’t mean the West should interfere. While its current government imposes a strict system of repression, the replacement could be worse. We need only look to Iraq and Libya to understand the uncertainty that follows.
Iran’s future, like its past, appears doomed to repeat another round of US coups. Whatever happens, the future looks bleak.
Many point to Trump’s recent and sudden urge to wage war as a distraction from the Epstein files. If so, he will not only have to answer questions about that, but war crimes too.
