Last updated: 12th July 2025
Glen Powell has unexpectedly risen in favour with the Hollywood elite. Having run the gauntlet of doing favours, he now finds himself headlining a spectacle — The Running Man.

Paramount‘s new story centres around Ben Richards, a father unable to afford hospital treatment for his child. However, in a twist of fate, he lands a role as a contestant on a bloody game show called — The Running Man. If he can survive his encounters with hunters and assassins, a substantial financial prize awaits. But is it rigged?
The story frames elements and themes that will resonate more with today’s audience than those of the past, as its plot mechanisms centre around the persistence of non-stop filming.
Reaction
So far, fans have praised the trailer’s slick editing with countless voices excited for Paramount Studios‘ upcoming movie. Some have even expressed that the trailer editor needs a raise. The production focuses more on real-world action than an enclosed gauntlet, differentiating it from its classic predecessor.

Edgar Wright Brings Experience
