US President Donald Trump was restrained in his reaction to devastating mid-term election losses

Donald Trump has suffered horrific losses in the mid-term elections, with Republicans losing control of both the Senate and the House. Democrats made significant gains across the Congress map. With sweeping changes rocking Capitol Hill, it’s no surprise the US President has been quick to take to Truth Social.

Donald Trump’s closing argument is a far cry from his concession speech.

In a surprising turn, by his standards, Trump has accepted the outcome of the election. But he also posted: “I wasn’t on the Ballot and if I was, we would have won IN A LANDSLIDE!” He told Fox News: “I don’t view it as a hit on me.”

He told the New York Times: “We’ll work with the Democrats, and we’ll, you know, look forward to working with them.” Though he also posted an image of a red cap reading: “VETO.”

One of the most high-profile candidates, Abdul El-Sayed, who has been in a back and forth feud with Vice President JD Vance, took the Michigan Senate seat and said: “We showed that in a battle between the money and the many that the many can win.”
