A Personal, Introspective Song

Having been open about his personal addictions, Guvna B continues down a path of refining his motifs, resulting in a new drive and mechanism to journal his mind. “Rest My Head” is an exceptional narrative; the rapper avoids bromide statements, refusing to chase the banal and socially and lyrically predictable, as evidenced in the explicit and artistic work he crafts. His honesty drives a form of self-psychoanalysis, as he questions his own motives, almost chastising himself before accepting the pain that results from it.

The track is an orchestrally inspired composition, and the rapper naturally unloads, using his talent as a vehicle to process outcomes, self-diagnosingI’m probably narcissistic” to accept change, and recognise that he must.

This is another reason why the UK’s hip-hop scene needs more support to ascend; while Guvna B is already there, his work can surely impact the game. “Rest My Head” is taken from his upcoming album, This Bed I Made, an 11-track long play slated for an April 24th 2026 release date.
