Rapper and podcast host N.O.R.E. confronts Sober Facts as the food vlogger is filming

N.O.R.E., also known as Noreaga, the deep-voiced rapper and host of the widely popular hip-hop podcast Drink Champs, increased his visibility by confronting a YouTuber over the weekend in a feud that spilled offline.

YouTube has exploded with commentary on the situation regarding N.O.R.E. and Sober Facts.

What Happened

The Melvin Flynt rapper had been in a back-and-forth confrontation with a food vlogger named Sober Facts (real name Jason Rodriguez), an influencer of Dominican descent becoming known for his so-called hot takes on the food industry. However, the podcast host was not impressed by his use of the N-word.

For months, the two had reportedly been going back and forth online over Sober Facts’ use of the word. However, the food reviewer did not expect what would transpire.

While he was filming, Rodriguez was confronted by Noreaga, who approached him in person and on camera, saying, “I could have did you filthy,” before saying, “I’m going to keep it positive. Because my intentions from the beginning was keeping it positive.”

The food reviewer ended up posting the event to social media, positioning it as though the situation was resolved: “N.O.R.E. ran up on me while I was doing a food review on the Lower East Side about our situation from a few months ago. I already explained myself, and it’s all good on my side. Shout out to N.O.R.E. I’m just a young sober guy speaking the facts and trying to make it.”

Reaction

In a response video, Rodriguez challenged the rapper’s own use of the word, saying, “You saying to not say the N-word, and you keep saying the N-word.” He also described himself as “a content demon.”

Social media users were sharing their own takes, with some pushing back against Sober Facts’ behaviour and his reaction to the confrontation. One Reddit user said: “You’re not so big and loud-mouthed now,” while a Threads commenter said: “Damn he ain’t been like this in a minute you brought out CNN NORE,” another said: “Why can’t these rappers approach anyone by themselves?” and “N.O.R.E almost did this man filthy but kept it positive”.

Rodriguez later posted another response to the incident, saying, “I don’t even want to use the word anymore” and “I’m really just trying to end this s**t, this whole back-and-forth…” He also criticised N.O.R.E. for double standards, saying he should also apply the same energy to rapper Fat Joe. While the feud appears to be cooling off, there’s no confirmation that the two have reconciled.
