“I Won’t Cry”: Remi Wolf serves up a different style of pop for fans who may be more familiar with her funkier side
Remi Wolf returns, teasing her upcoming album, Mud. Her latest single, the slow ballad “I Won’t Cry”, sees her don a cowboy hat for a song about longing to savour moments of memory, calling out for a former lover.
The “Hello” artist released a statement about “I Won’t Cry”, saying: “The three hours it took us to write and record it felt like we were all under some kind of magic spell. I would play the demo for friends and by the end they’d be crying.”
The track is far different from her earlier, more heavily pop and funk-driven music, and opens up a side of the singer that commands a newfound respect. Wolf says it’s “…one of my favorite songs I’ve ever written, and I’m so happy you finally get to hear it!!!”
Once again, her vocals are at peak performance and her songwriting craft is never found wanting.
Her new album, Mud, is out October 9.
