Rapper Rick Ross has been accused of domestic violence and battery by his former partner of more than a year

Rapper Rick Ross has been arrested after being accused of domestic violence and has voluntarily surrendered. He has been charged with felony battery by strangulation and misdemeanor battery. Miami Beach Police have not disclosed the identity of the woman accusing Ross of abuse. However, his former girlfriend, Jazzma Kendrick, also accused the hip-hop artist of assault days before his arrest.

Rapper Rick Ross is facing criminal charges for alleged assault and battery.

Affidavit Reveals Startling Allegations

The incident is said to have occurred at his mansion home on Star Island on 28 August 2026. According to police reports, Ross (real name William Leonard Roberts II) had been in a relationship with the woman for a year and they were living together.

According to the affidavit, an argument is alleged to have started after the Teflon Don rapper discovered that she was tagged in an Instagram post. Police reports reveal that the woman accused Ross of slapping her, punching her in the chest and then strangling her using the collar of her hooded sweater.

Police records say that Roberts “continued to question the victim while she was in the bathroom, and every time the victim denied the allegations, she was struck by [Ross].” She then says he “choked [her] to the point where she could not breathe by grabbing the collar of the hoodie she was wearing and twisting it.”

In a sworn statement, she says the incident continued when he grabbed her by the ponytail and slammed her against a wall before punching her in the face. The reports also include timestamped photographs of her injuries and investigative notes that police reviewed CCTV footage from Roberts’ property.

Ross turned himself in and pleaded not guilty. His lawyers say the allegations are false. However, the judge presiding over the case has found probable cause and issued a no-contact/stay-away order and ordered Ross to surrender his firearms while his case awaits trial. His bond has been set at $5,000.

On September 26, Roberts’ long-time rival, 50 Cent, responded to Jazzma Kendrick’s recent statements, saying: “This punk put his hands on baby girl, he stressed that the album didn’t sell. I’d laugh at him, but domestic violence is not a joke.” Today, he simply posted “LOL” alongside the police report.
