He’s been in the game for a minute now with a well-rehearsed flow and interesting direction for UK Hip-Hop. Some British rappers have lacked enthusiasm within their work, choosing to fall upon a bed of underground and sinister-sounding beats that could be mistaken for a soundtrack akin to walking along a sewer. But on his new single, Thomas turns up the brightness to remedy the situation, pounding us with hard heavy snares and bass-pounding drums.
Though not as catchy as his prior release Heisman, it strides through acting as a hold my beer style song priming the listener for what they can expect from his latest album Redshirt.
Never Easy is a hark back to the golden years of Hip-Hop for a new generation that seem to enjoy the musical aesthetics of the epoch though fail to put a finger on which artists were the hottest (cough, it’s not Jay-Z).
Thrilling with production that is tented with an organ marker, Cam Thomas & Isse Baby roll through with dashing skill sets and catchy flows that would be hard not to accept.
