Another Larry June, 2 Chainz, and The Alchemist song, I Been, has dropped. And tes, your suspicions are correct, they have announced a new album titled – Life is Beautiful.

Life is Beautiful: Everything We Know About the New Album
There’s a pre-existing positive sentiment for The Alchemist, having served as a pillar of the hip-hop world. Frequently partnering with Roc Marciano, it’s hardly a surprise when he announces a new album.
The fresh project, Life is Beautiful, is a collaboration with rappers Larry June and 2 Chainz, and, judging by their past two singles, I presume the album’s themes are chock-full of narratives reflecting their lavish lifestyles. But don’t discount the trio’s ability to get vulnerable. The long play will be released, February 7, 2025.
What I Been Sounds Like
The producer leads the charge once again, using samples taken from the soul genre. His well-oiled, slick musical production is persuasive, as the two rappers are welcomed by his familiar percussive signature.
The track explores the group’s material successes, brought about by their explosive careers. June and 2 Chainz deliver a calculated flow, similar to their run on Bad Choices.
The lyrical makeup of their efforts feels reinforced only by their delayed and relaxed flow: “I been, I hop out clean, rare like a Mona Lisa, Did the ‘Rari two times, five hundred a piece.” Lyrically, their skill is charged only by a pensive delivery, though it is far from being classed a work of art.
Verdict
Its pragmatic introduction sonically follows the same theme throughout. But, if this is a prelude to the album, it’s not the best selection for a promo.
Flat and perhaps rushed vocals don’t do this release any favours, and I’m starting to worry about The Alchemist, considering his recent tracks lack a certain quality. Despite being experimental, it feels half-heartedly thrown together. And when it comes to the lyricists, there is mumble rap, and then there are eloquent vocals with little substance. Overall, quite simply, it’s flat.
