Nigel Farage’s election win proves he will run away at any sign of a confrontation

Nigel Farage may have won the local by-election, though 42% of it was taken by his satirical opponent — Count Binface with 9,455 (26.93%). Stepping aside only to run again led rival parties to boycott the local contest, calling it “performative”. In the end, Farage won his constituency with 22,239 votes (63.34%).

Nigel Farage has won the by-election that he himself instigated. However, his “win” has caused more issues than it’s worth. Despite winning comfortably, the Clacton-on-Sea MP made things difficult for himself.

Despite his seasoned experience dealing with the media, Nigel Farage’s approach and challenges have been meagre compared to contemporary journalism. In the past, appearances on Russian media, including RT News, gave him a licence to choose his opponents. Highly edited clips and curated appearances made him seem like an alternative to a government that was entangled in the Iraq War and subsequent scandals. However, that all changed when he believed he could transport this hype into the mainstream.

After transcending into mainstream politics, Nigel Farage began to peddle his brand of prejudice. He commissioned advertisements including “BREAKING POINT: The EU has failed us all”, accompanied by his comments: “We must break free of the EU and take back control of our borders.” The advert wrongfully portrayed Syrian and Afghan refugees travelling from Croatia to Slovenia as associated with British borders.

The 13 August by-election result saw Nigel Farage win, but not comfortably. Despite taking the most votes with 22,000, his main opponent, Count Binface, snatched 9,455 alongside a multiverse of characters.
Nigel Farage likely held the by-election to prevent a parliamentary watchdog from resuming its investigation into inappropriate financial gifts relating to a £5 million property in Clacton-on-Sea. However, the Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards reopened its investigation as soon as it was confirmed he had won his constituency contest.
The Stanisland Verdict
This will come as no surprise to our readers. Running on the one-subject, anti-immigration manifesto, Farage has proven he remains a one-trick pony. With little to offer beyond divisive politics and ethno-fascist rhetoric, he is sealing the fortunes of Britain’s economy thanks to paper-tiger policies and a head filled with hot air.
