New Palace jacket featuring the work of Caravaggio feels more Temu than premium

Palace has long maintained strong relationships with its customer base, though it has recently unveiled some questionable design choices. Its latest reveal — which is sold out now, I might add — uses the art of Caravaggio, in particular, his piece titled Saint Jerome Writing.

Bad Taste

Let’s be honest here, the art is incredible, the design, however — horrific. I feel like I’m looking at a knock-off of a Primark release, and it’s hard to be described as a counterfeit Primark fashion piece. It’s a so-called winter jacket, and adding to its poor, bad-taste design, it’s manufactured using… wait for it… 100% polyester.

Overpriced

The item is not even Gore-Tex, but retails at an astonishing $478. Let’s sit with that for a moment: for nearly $500, you can own something made entirely from polyester, yet looks like $40 at the maximum. What other beauties does Palace have up its sleeve? Hopefully, something better than this.
