UK rappers PS Hitsquad and Cristale unite Brixton and Peckham for their second collaboration
PS Hitsquad drops his new track “Popeye“, his first release since “Chasing My Grave” in January, and this time, the rapper saddles up with Brixton-based Cristale. The two punch in over a bass-heavy score fit for breaking car speakers and destroying your suspension.
“Popeye”: A Fierce with Fire Track
As the title suggests, the track unleashes a blitz of vocal bravado, firing off a deluge of commentary on success, desire, and status. With both rappers carrying a reputation for skill, it does what it says on the tin.
“Popeye” draws attention through a dynamic that bridges the Peckham-Brixton sound, combining mirroring flows driven by dominant lyricism. Featuring a classic, pitched, resonant yet defined bassline, Cristale sharpens the knife with a playful bout of wordplay as the two retain their signature style over a Sebz Beats composition, with a Popeye giggle thrown in for good measure.
