Cannabis Sobriety

The 39-year-old (real name Quincy Matthew Hanley) German-born, Californiabased rapper said he has given up weed and that this will be the first project recorded without consuming it: “At some point, it ain’t really doing nothing,” he said.

He went on to explain that he mainly did it for his daughters, adding, “…to let them know you can do anything.”

Despite the announcement, Thank Que is yet to receive a release date, though it will consist of twelve tracks through Top Dawg Entertainment.

Fan Reactions

Fans have long considered the TDE rapper to be an underrated lyricist, with many believing he deserves his flowers more than the usual suspects.

Some feel he has been caught in the comparison trap with Kendrick Lamar. However, the two are distinguished from each other through both their music and lyrics.

On social media, the culture is excited. One user said: “I f**ked with Blue Lips heavy. Surprised he already has another album announced,” while another wrote, “The amount of music coming out is crazy.” Others showed no signs of slowing down with the compliments and continued to sing his praises: “The world needs more Schoolboy Q music. So hyped,” and “Best news I heard all day.”
