Hasbro celebrates the 40th anniversary of Transformers: The Movie with two huge action figures: Studio Series 86 (SS86) One Shall Stand Optimus Prime and One Shall Fall Megatron
It’s the 40th anniversary of Transformers: The Movie this year, celebrating a strong and enthusiastic fan base who have loyally kept the franchise going. It goes without saying that the first-generation animation is the staple for fans and remains the best interpretation of the beloved sentient robot race.
Afficionados will be pleased to know that, to commemorate the feature film’s birthday, Hasbro Toys have revealed a double whammy for Transformers geeks. Thanks to In Demand Toys, we get our first look at the Studio Series 86 (SS86) One Shall Stand battle-damaged Optimus Prime and One Shall Fall Megatron, which are slated for a 2026 release in recognition of this milestone.
Availability
Both action figures are available to pre-order today directly from Hasbro. Elsewhere, global releases will likely be available through several retailers, though this is yet to be confirmed. Likely contenders include In Demand Toys, The Whole She-Bang, Forbidden Planet, and Comics & Cocktails.

The current recommended retail price is currently $60 (£55.99) per figure.
Verdict
Both look great, with some Optimus Prime caveats. His antenna and mouthpiece look a little odd, while Megatron’s finish feels more faithful. However, Megs’ design makes it a little easier from a production standpoint.
My reservations lie with Hasbro’s quality control, following several less-than-desirable scratched items, missing paint in areas, and obvious mould errors. Prime’s official listing is One Shall Stand, which is pretty funny given that Megatron not only lives to tell the tale, but he also gets a glow-up courtesy of Unicron.
