Fresh R&B music from US-based singer-songwriter Cybèle is an ethereal listen
Master of music Cybèle has nurtured a garden of moreish sound and now releases her new single, “Lovergirl“, filled with late-night guitar vibes and a sophisticated finish. The singer, who was raised between Paris, Beijing, and Los Angeles, is quickly becoming one to watch in contemporary R&B, having consistently dropped music for three years running.

In a slick and smooth reveal, the track, crafted alongside Grammy Award-winning songwriter Tristan Rice, glides between tension and vulnerability, replete with vocables that glaze “Lovergirl” with a ruminative layer of sound. Asked about the track, the singer said: “’Lovergirl’ is about the journey of pain, beauty, and self-acceptance that comes with learning that love and discernment don’t always live in the same place.” She continued: “As women who love deeply, we have to learn to match our capacity for giving with our ability to recognise who is truly capable of receiving it.”
Compared to the artist’s previous tracks, including “In Another Life” and “She’s Got It“, Cybèle demonstrates her ability to switch between timbres to shape and mould a unique cadence in song.
