Hip-hop has enjoyed a huge August, but it’s not done yet. Rapper Earl Sweatshirt (real name Thebe Neruda Kgositsile) has announced he is set to drop a fresh album. The project, titled Live Laugh Love will be his fifth studio release.

Earl Sweatshirt has collaborated with some incredible talent.

Despite being vague in details, there are some things we do know about the former Odd Future member’s surprise announcement.

Album Announcement

The long play was announced on social media via a cryptic post that featured a recent viral photograph of Chris Brown posing with a fan, LeBron James, and Kgositsile himself wearing wire-rimmed glasses and a captioned that reads: “8/22 LLLz”.

Album Features

Fans caught wind of the new drop following a listening party that was held in LA on the 15th August.

Potential album artwork for the upcoming album.

Zines were printed and handed to attendees with contributions reportedly made by Vince Staples, Dave Chapelle, Donald Glover, The Alchemist, and Steven Yeun.

This may be an indication as to who recorded for his forthcoming release — or maybe not. Music journalist Eric Skelton was in attendance and had this to say:

“Copies of a zine were handed out to attendees. It included a “contributors” page that has since been inaccurately described on social media as an album contributors list. But it’s actually a list of contributors to the zine.”

The Tracklist

This will be the first album Sweatshirt has released since 2023’s widely acclaimed Voir Dire, an album produced entirely by The Alchemist, with features that include Vince Staples and Mike.

A partial tracklist has been released, and, if true prepares listeners for his eccentric return to form.
