Releasing her new single “Prisoner of Love”, the jazz vocalist readies her debut Blue Note album, Diavola
Gabrielle Cavassa marks the release of her debut Blue Note album, Diavola, with the new single “Prisoner Of Love“, a soft, classic wool of dusty jazz, layered with the converging melodic quality of seasoned instrumentalists Joshua Redman and Don Was.
“Prisoner of Love“: A Timeless Jazz Ballad
Featuring Redman’s eloquent saxophone, he is accompanied by the legendary Jeff Parker on guitar, as well as Larry Grenadier on bass, Brian Blade on drums, and Paul Cornish on piano.
Prisoner of Love seeks to honour tradition while embracing Cavassa‘s individuality. Her vocals effuse an iconic warmth and sustain a delicate equilibrium of affinity. In a statement, Cavassa said, “Modernity is important to me,” adding, “but the truth is I really am coming from a tradition. And I really love singing those songs.”
