Brad Pitt fights for survival in his new film, Heart of the Beast, alongside a very fluffy, big, silly dog (a term of endearment). The pair fight for survival as they traverse the wild after a plane crash leaves them stranded deep in the Alaskan wilderness. Despite being set in Alaska, the movie was shot on location in New Zealand.

Cinemas are alive and kicking. This year, the film industry proved theatrical screenings remain in demand thanks to titles such as Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Michael, Toy Story 5 and The Odyssey. Potentially, we have another contender ready to bring rain to a so-called desert of movies.

The Plot

Director David Ayer (Fury, 2014) once again teams up with Brad Pitt, this time with the Oscar winning actor playing James Belmont, a former Special Forces soldier. After returning from duty abroad, he hopes to give his canine partner the peaceful life he deserves.

During a getaway trip to help him heal in the Alaskan wilderness, their plane crashes, leaving them isolated in the wild. The two fight for survival as they try to find their way home in this action-packed adventure movie.

Heart of the Beast — which Pitt also produces — marks the actor’s first lead role since F1. The film is written by Cameron Alexander and is his first major screenplay following a stint directing music videos.
