Robert Eggers continues to dominate viral horror with a fresh trailer for upcoming film, Werwulf
Robert Eggers’ latest film of ravenous proportions, Werwulf, has unleashed another trailer for his upcoming horror bonanza starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Willem Dafoe, Lily-Rose Depp and Ralph Ineson. We get to see more of his dark and spooky landscape, but will we get something that delivers? Or more superficial storytelling wrapped up in artistic splendour?
What to Expect
It makes a change for a horror movie not to be shown throughout Halloween and instead be marketed at Christmas. But whatever. The new trailer offloads some new details, including new landscapes and domineering shot lists.
Eggers’ films are almost captured in the style of silent movies, and this novel approach, among other things, continues to attract audiences intrigued by his way of seeing. His latest film will remain on the same track with a screenplay exploring folklore through metaphors that explore social upheaval and division through a “monster” that is misunderstood.
While we’re excited regardless, I’ve never seen a promotional clip tease a horror film with “This Christmas”. I’m sure there are more out there, but it’s still rather amusing.
