Here we go again: Spider-Man terrorises New York City criminals in Brand New Day trailer
Spider-Man is still the gold standard in superhero movies, unless you’re Batman. But it depends on your mood and who has the better story. Tom Holland‘s interpretation is good, but it’s no Tobey Maguire. However, he’s outlasted Andrew Garfield’s run, though the overstimulation often undermines the merits of its execution. Destin Daniel Cretton, known for Shang-Chi and Tokyo Vice, directs.
Scorpion, The Punisher, The Hand and More
With too many comic book heroes in the fray, they’ve for sure lost their specialness; when Marvel began to take shape, each protagonist felt unique, but as the Avengers took shape, that distinctiveness began to wither. While their films are fun, they’re far from memorable. Tom Holland had the opportunity to become a great wall-climbing web-slinger, and probably is… in another universe.

With a presence in New York City once again, previous trailers show Spider-Man battling street-level criminals, including antagonists such as Michael Mando‘s Scorpion and the mysterious group known as The Hand. Fighting alongside Jon Bernthal‘s The Punisher, he seeks the help of Dr Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo), who seemingly continues to struggle to contain his alter ego, The Hulk. On top of this, Peter Parker is caught in a state of emotional uncertainty as he longs to reconcile his relationship with Mary Jane Watson (Zendaya) following the fallout from No Way Home.
