Taken from his upcoming album “On Purpose, With Purpose,” Ghetts returns to the scene carving out flame-ridden bars straight from the crucible of rhyme sets he has been comfortable with crafting for some time.
“Laps” is a promotional single taken from his forthcoming release, due to drop next year in February, and features the vocals of Moonchild Sanelly. The song models a bass-lit snare happy production well curated to support the rapper and his counterpart, gently balancing a blend of pleasingly paced music.
Once again, Ghetts eschews the limitations of trend music, opting to serve his style without compromising on relevance. He exhibits a crown of written and vocalised metrical patterns that are some of the most consistent in the genre; without having to sacrifice artistic integrity. Having not been a staunch fan of Ghetts in the past, I will happily retire my old views for positive connotations.
Following his latest release, the artist has chosen to donate the budget required to produce a music video to the Newham and Essex Beagles Athletics Club. In the past, he has supported the annual membership of 150 young people at the establishment which has a history of mentoring Olympic athletes.
