Last updated: 5th August 2025
Redman fans are eating good. Between November and December, the New Jersey native announced his upcoming Muddy Waters Too album, the sequel to his 1996 classic.
The cherry on top of a very large Gilla cake has been the reveal of two new singles: Don’t Wanna C Me Rich and now, Jersey.
What It Sounds Like
It seems Newark’s finest is ramping up efforts for his highly anticipated new album. Having also released So Cool (another track from the forthcoming project) in 2022, fans are starting to get a clear picture of what Mr. Noble has in store for us.
Produced by the maestro that is Da Rockwilder, who has worked with the likes of Big Pun, Busta Rhymes, Method Man and EMPD.
This track is made for the dance floor and is new territory for Red. It is amplified by his infectiously melodic flow and clever wordplay, and complemented by a smooth bassline that accents the delivery.
The video is directed by Reggie himself alongside Terrius Mykel, and is released through GillaHouse Records.
Verdict
It’s a true testament to the rapper’s vibrant identity, sonically laced with an enthusiasm for the craft. His skill is undeniable, and hearing fresh material like this reinforces his status as one of hip-hop’s finest.
Jersey flips the script and proves the artist’s indelible mark on the game is one that isn’t going anywhere soon.
Where To Stream and Buy Merchandise
The song can streamed on Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon.
Ahead of his new album, Gilla Records has launched merchandise including T-shirts and hoodies. If you can’t wait for the new album, you can refresh your memory with the first instalment of the saga, with Muddy Waters on vinyl.
