ITV News uncovered rampant racism in the far-right nationalist political party Reform UK, yet their popularity continues to climb
ITV’s undercover investigation into Reform UK councillors laid bare the extent of what we all knew. Like an open secret, rampant racism in the party was made clear once again through openly prejudiced remarks and gaslighting of the highest order. Between 2025 and 2026, journalists from ITV secretly filmed Reform UK party members and candidates making openly racist and Islamophobic remarks.
A Wake-Up Call for Politics
In the footage, those filmed showcased an inexplicable amount of tawdry expletives and appeared to show a side of jealousy, as evidenced in one particular comment made by Alan Feeney, who counted cars owned by one family before calling them parasites.
Bromley representative Dean Miller described Black children as animals and made inexcusable comments claiming white residents had been ethnically cleansed. He later falsely claimed that King Charles was secretly a Muslim and that he should be beheaded for treason.
Another candidate, Chris Whelan, made sexually inappropriate and explicit remarks about another female Reform UK candidate, while other party candidates, including Jamir Campbell, debated burying pork under a proposed mosque site so it would have to be demolished to remove it. The three have since resigned from Reform UK and are standing as independent councillors.
Reform says it has launched an investigation. Its deputy leader, Richard Tice, claimed one of the disgraced individuals may have been a Conservative Party plant, while Nigel Farage once again finds himself in the middle of another political controversy of his own making.
Our Verdict: Lights, Camera, No Action
This scandal is nothing new. We’ve all known the extent of Reform’s xenophobic and prejudiced culture for years, yet very little action has been taken. The government’s stance on the matter continues to coast, allowing this disgusting behaviour to fester in public discourse, aiding the growth of extremist nationalist groups with alarming popularity.
Every day, thanks to its lack of backbone, more and more racist comments circulate online, and the resilience of Farage’s uncivilised culture of prejudice and discrimination sinks the UK into an ever-growing bog of discontent. These men have been caught on camera being openly racist — where is the police action? Might I remind the police of Section 18 of the Public Order Act 1986, which criminalises threatening, abusive or insulting behaviour intended or likely to stir up racial hatred? They’re still in office, with powers to vote on policy whilst they harbour a baneful bias. There’s a reason anti-Muslim hatred continues to rise, and among others, Reform UK is one of them.
A documentary titled Undercover: A Year In Reform is set to air this Sunday, 18 October 2026, at 10:15 pm on ITV1.
