According to the Outkast collaborator, André 3000 is readying new music.
Killer Mike, member of Run The Jewels and frequent collaborator of Hip-Hop group Outkast has claimed in an interview that André 3000 (real name André Benjamin) has new music in production.
André 3000 famously told Rick Rubin in an interview for his podcast Broken Record that he doesn’t feel like he can make music anymore. In an interview, the rapper said: “I haven’t been making much music, man. My focus is not there. My confidence is not there,”…”I tinker a lot. I’ll just go to a piano and I’ll set my iPhone down and just record what I’m doing, moving my fingers and whatever happens, but I haven’t been motivated to do a serious project”
Whether this was to deflect any pressure in making music is anyone’s guess, but in a turn of fortune, it appears André 3000 is readying new music. That’s according to long time collaborator of the duo, Killer Mike.
What did Killer Mike say about André 3000’s new album?
Featuring an appearance on SiriusXM’s Sway in the Morning show, the host popped the question to Mike: “What I’m hearing is Dré got an album coming…”
To which, Mike responds: “I think we fly out in a couple weeks to go listen to it.”
Prior to that, Breakfast Club co-host Charlamage claimed he was played a track from it by Mike titled Three Stacks which he says is “one of the greatest hip-hop records”. The host continued: “There is another Killer Mike and Dre feature and all we gotta do is make this album go No. 1 and make the guys from the label really, really happy and I’ll be back next year. It’s about 12 minutes — seven and five. Stacks rap longer. When you handsome all the girls like you, you get to rap longer.”
When is André 3000s new album out?
André 3000’s last appearance was on Kanye West’s Donda album which was removed at the last minute.
As of yet, there is no release date though rumours have quickly turned into witness accounts for the materialisation of the music.
