Drake has yet to confirm an album, but that hasn’t stopped fans from speculating
Page updated: 4 September 2026
Drake is teasing a project, and although he or his team have not confirmed it’s a new album, it’s safe to say it is. But, at this point, following his below-average Iceman drop, do we really need another album from Aubrey? No.
After posting visuals of his family in August with the words “FOMO 2026”, Drake followed this up with an image of a CD. On it are the words “FEAR OF MISSING OUT”, which he shared to Instagram.
The internet went into full meltdown, with theories abound, but still there is no confirmed tracklist or release date. That changed slightly tonight, when the rapper posted an image with the words FOMO once again, accompanied by a note that reads: September 15th, YouTube, 9 PM ET. This could either be the start of a rollout, or, a project release date.
Clues and Speculation
Right now, all the clues point to nothing. Drake was spotted at Toronto’s Canadian National Exhibition wearing an Iron Man suit. Fans speculated that it is likely linked to a music video shoot, but once again, there is no confirmation.
Drake further fuelled speculation after he liked a fan’s video on Instagram which described the upcoming project as an album. However, he could just be stirring the pot.
One thing’s for sure, a new Drake album means a divided hip-hop community. While his output has been consistent, the quality of the product has been Temu at best. Aubrey Graham probably doesn’t mind; he markets to emotion and couldn’t care less about musical substance.
