Tom Holland returns as the wall-crawling, webslinger, in Marvel Studios’ fourth instalment of the Spider-Man film series
Last updated: 19th March 2026
The Spider-Man: Brand New Day trailer was delayed but it’s here now, setting the internet ablaze with excitement. After Denis Villeneuve stole Tom Holland’s thunder on the day of its planned release, the English actor snatched it right back, hijacking the next day’s buzz with the film’s first promotional clip; and there are talking points we need to discuss.
Some of the villains featured in the movie include names we’ve wanted for a long time, but for whatever reason, we never got them. Fast forward twenty-odd years, and Scorpion lands alongside what appears to be Tarantula and Boomerang. With some of the most iconic comic panels from the Spider-Man series featured too, it seems like Marvel Studios has pulled out all the stops to give fans their just desserts.
The Plot
The film is directed by Destin Yori Daniel Cretton and follows events from No Way Home, where Dr Strange cast a spell making the world forget that Peter Parker (Tom Holland) is Spider-Man. However, his floundering support system includes a world where Mary-Jane Watson (Zendaya) and friends don’t remember him, and Peter is forced to confront an existence without Aunt May.

As Parker’s powers begin to mutate, Jon Bernthal reprises his role as The Punisher ,who is forced to team up with the webslinger to confront an evolving force, most likely Scorpion (Mac Gargan), The Hand, Tarantula, and Boomerang, as well as a gang of street-level thugs.
Release Date
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is slated for a theatrical cinema release on the 31st July 2026.
