Fresh finds and underground gems: we round up some of the most underrated catchy songs
Last updated: 15 July 2026
The talent pool in music is high-end, but some artists fail to get a mention. Some are on the spectrum of greatness and still fail to get the praise they deserve. Today, we’re highlighting some of the best of the infectious, repeat-worthy tracks that we can guarantee won’t leave your head for anytime soon.
R.A.E. – “Like This”
(United Kingdom)
Starting with a banger, R.A.E.‘s “Like This” should be everyone’s anthem; a feel-good number with a tuneful sound, it will disarm even the most cantankerous of people. Like seriously, listen to it; what’s there to hate? It’s got pretty much everything you could want from a track that aims to please everyone. R.A.E. continues to pen her distinctive brand of classics, and every single she’s dropped is as moreish as the next.
Saรฏna – “Wrong Love”
(United Kingdom)
“Wrong Love” is Saรฏna‘s breakout single, a clutch of catchy deliveries atop an equally infectious chorus, and there’s no putting this one down. The track is almost six years old, but it’s a classic, chock-full of narratives about regret and the intensity of a relationship taking its natural course. The only thing missing is an official music video.
Appleby – โWithout Youโ
(United States)
Despite its no-skip sound, Appleby‘s “Without You” comes from a deeply personal place, relating to a difficult upbringing. The singer explains: “I wrote a song about being abandoned by my father when I was a kid”. It’s a beautiful song, and listening to it is the only way to do it justice.
Pollena – “Running”
(United Kingdom)
If you ask Pollena about this track, she will tell you she hates it with a passion. However, we think it’s one of her best works to date. The hook and beat keep your head moving involuntarily in circles. “Running” is a sandwich of musical influences, including electronic, garage, and dance music. It’s, quite simply, the one that got away and deserves to be appreciated because both the producer and artist have very clearly put in the work on a song that should have been bigger than it was.
flowerovlove – โIn My Victoriaโs Secretโ
(United Kingdom)
A brand-new single, โIn My Victoriaโs Secretโ, from British bubblegum pop artist flowerovlove references a moment when she walked into a Victoriaโs Secret store. The artist explains: “Itโs a song about crying in your underwear after a hook-up when you feel unwanted by someone, and you have the cutest Victoriaโs Secret on.โ It’s uplifting music that contrasts with the track’s message and is produced by Ryan Raines.
Josh Vine – โThe Waterโ
(United Kingdom)
Josh Vine has an immeasurable gift for songwriting; paired with his immaculate instrumental execution, he has never missed, and I can prove that to you โ just listen to his catalogue. “The Water” is a piercing work of tidal emotion, surging into a euphoric crescendo where the chorus envelops the listener and everyone within range.
CAP1TALA – “GENERAL”
(United Kingdom)
Hip-hop serves up some of the most hypnotic of deliveries; CAP1TALA‘s hook makes “GENERAL” an impressive drop, but his flow and style make it an addictive listen too. There’s something more to his latest single that makes it a definitive listen. While some may enjoy the monotonous tone of a dying cat – and autotune’s sound is like nails on a chalkboard – CAP1TALA brings balance to the force with a decisive blow.
